MK5 final SPEC:

* Support soft reset function in the game, press L+R+A+B+X+Y then can return to menu, not need re-power on NDS anymore! (But it need the rom run under "auto detect save type" mode)
* Support "auto detect save type" function, almost don't need to upgrade the savetype.sdb file in the future!

Step [1] —
a. Insert the MK5 USB linker to your NDS GBA slot , and use the MK5 USB cable to connect your PC and MK5 USB linker.
The data transfer speed around 1.0M~1.2M on USB 2.0 port. For guarantee the data transfer quality, please use the MK5 USB cable connect to your mainboard's USB port directly, don't use any USB HUB or USB extension cable.
b. Hold the "L" + "R" + "UP" and turn on NDS till you can see the mk5 logo appear (don't release these 3 keys), and press "A"+"B" (now "L+R+UP+A+B" 5 keys are held) ,NDS will start to run MK5 ;

c. Then you will see this screen , and the windows system will detect a new removable driver (MK5 USB disk) is inserted , like a USB pen driver :

Step [2] —
a. Now open the mk5 menu CD, go to this folder: "x:/MK5 serial/MK5 8G & 16G GIGA Cart/Driver/MK5_#1_DownGrade_V1.22F" ;
b. If your MK5 is 8G, then run the "MK5-8G-format.bat" , if not then run "MK5-16G-format.bat" ;
c. You can see the follow DOS window appear, when you see the "press any key to exit…" then mean the menu downgrade is done ;

d. Disable the MK5 USB disk from your PC, then turn off NDS.

Step [3] —
a. Hold the "L" + "R" + "DOWN" and turn on NDS till you can see the mk5 logo appear (don't release these 3 keys), and press "A"+"B" (now "L+R+DOWN+A+B" 5 keys are held) ,NDS will start to format MK5 ;

 
Step [4] —
a. When the format complete, then you will see the MK5 USB disk appear on your PC again ;
b. Go to this folder: "x:/MK5 serial/MK5 8G & 16G GIGA Cart/Driver/MK5_#2_Format APP V1.45" ;
c. Copy all files form this folder (include the sub-folder)  to MK5 driver ;
d. Disable the MK5 USB disk from your PC, then turn off NDS.

Step [5] — (If you just get your new MK5 and you see this upgrade file, please follow the below operation and ignore the previous step[1]~step[4] )
a. Remove the MK5 USB linker, power on NDS, and press A to enter MK5 system;
b. Select the "MK5_Menu_V1.45_AUTO_Upgrade.nds" and press A to run it;

c. Press A to continue when this screen appear;

d. When the update complete, power off your NDS;

Step [6] —
a. Insert the MK5 USB linker to NDS GBA slot again, power on NDS, and press A twice to enter MK5 "USB MODE";

b. If your MK5 have formatted before, then will see the MK5 start to running "Memory Quick Check" ;

c. When it done, you will see the MK5 USB disk appear on your PC;

d. If the MK5 is not formatted before , it'll appear this menu, please select "QUICK FORMAT" and press A to continue.
If you can choose the "FULL FORMAT" will be better, but it'll take over 20 minutes to complete, please wait

e. After it done, you will see the MK5 USB disk appear on your PC again;

 
Step [7] —
a. Go to this folder: "x:/MK5 serial/MK5 8G & 16G GIGA Cart/Driver/MK5_#3_Menu_V1.45_&_XMenu_V2.53" ;
b. Copy all files form this folder (include the sub-folder)  to MK5 USB disk , it'll take around 5 minutes because the sub-folder have too many small files,
but it'll be more fast when copy the big files ;
c. Disable the MK5 USB disk from your PC when it complete, then turn off NDS.
d. Remove the MK5 USB linker and power on NDS, now you can start to enjoy the last 2.53 menu!

 
 
How to use the V2.53 menu new function

[1] About the soft reset function —
By default the MK5 v2.53 set all roms to "auto detect save type" mode, so almost roms can use "L+R+A+B+X+Y" to return the menu in the game. But this function don't support homebrew.
And this function will be disable if change the "auto detect save type" to other exactly save mode.

[2] About the save type auto detect function —
The default "auto detect save type" can support over 98% roms, so it don't need to update the savetype.sdb file anymore. But if the game can't run, user can use the "SELECT+LEFT" or  "SELECT+RIGHT"  to select the 4K / 64K(512K) / 2M / 4M save type to test which mode can run this game, it's very easy.

[3] About the music and video play —
The "x:/MK5 serial/MK5 8G & 16G GIGA Cart/Driver/MK5_#3_Menu_V1.45_&_XMenu_V2.53" have come with the last Moonshell Media Player v1.71 version, it can play MP3/DPG/TTA/AAC/OGG… and can view TEXT/picture … , you just need drag and drop these files to MK5 then can play!
If you want to generate your own *.dpg movie file, you can unzip the "dpgtools13 for MoonShell Version 1.71.rar" and run for make your own movie, it's not difficult indeed.

[4] About the PASSME function —
If you want to use MK5 as one passme device, you just need click the "MK5_PassMe" and run, then you can boot almost GBA cart, like NEO serial.

[5] About the PDA and homebrew DLDI support —
The MK5 v2.53 menu have come with the last NEO version DSOrganize , and build in the DLDI auto patch function, so almost homebrew can run on MK5 perfectly.
 
[6] If the MK5 USB linker don't work —

In 99% case the MK5 USB linker don't have hardware quality problem, you just need use the rubber to clean the MK5 USB linker golden finger, then it'll work again.
